On Technique Tuesday, Jeannie challenged us to add texture and bling to our embellishments. Here are some poinsettia embellishments that Jeannie beautifully decorated:
On What's New Wednesday, Annie showed us how to make layered embellishments like the store-bought ones that are so popular now. Here are Annie's creations:
And here they are adorning her layout:

Make Up Monday 11/18/13
I just love this time of year and this month's theme of Home for the Holidays is just perfect. The projects created by our Challenge Team this past week show that this time of year is all about family and friends. Here's what we've been up to this past week.
Beth started us out on Tuesday and made these very cute note cards and holder and even provided us with the tutorial for them. See the tutorial here http://www.splitcoaststampers.com/resou ... ecardtote/
On Wednesday, Cassy, challenged us to "cork it up" and use some cork embellishments or paper on our projects.
On Thursday, Bev challenged us to use 2 elements from a list .. any 2 your choice. Use a border, punched accent, cluster, floral, layers, stitches.... and an added twist to do something family and fun in keeping with this months thankful celebration.
On Friday, Barb wanted us to show our own take on abundance. What do you feel an abundance of during this Thanksgiving season? She went very literal, using photos of the abundance of late summer/fall fruit, vegetables, and other homegrown products shown at the farmer's market in Rochester.
On Saturday, Tracy challenged us to use this sketch along with a holiday food theme.
On Sunday, Jan challenge us to use this photo for inspiration.
We've really been enjoying this month's Home for the Holidays theme and hope you have too. I know this is a very busy time of year for everybody but we hope you can spare some time to come join in on the fun!

Layout of The Week 11/6/13 - 11/12/13
This week I chose Cassy's layout. I love all the little things like the texture with the paint, the mini Polaroid frame, the butterflies, the twine, the small tags & banners etc. The best parts are her beautiful daughter and the sweet puppy! Thank you Cassy for inspiring us. To see more of Cassy's aka AlteredDiva work be sure to stop by her gallery-->http://cookinupcreations.com/cpg15x/index.php?cat=10163

Can you believe it -- we're already into November! Our local grocers are stocking up on frozen turkeys and pumpkin pie; and with Christmas only six weeks away, the holiday music, ads and merchandise already are making their appearance. Our Blue Plate Specials theme this month is "HOME FOR THE HOLIDAYS" and will encompass anything to do with the upcoming holiday season.
Last week, the Master Chef Challenge Team members revealed their Scraplift a Member choices and layouts. Please go HERE to see what they created and to join in the fun.
We always take a break at the end of the month, but the November challenges started Friday with Jeannie's challenge to focus on an event or activity that includes family and friends. Here is her layout:
Beth brought us Sketchy Saturday with a sketch from Cricut Inspired Layouts and the challenge to scrap about something.someone for which you are thankful. Here is her layout:
Sunday's Inspiration was brought to us by Cassy. She posted a layout she loved and asked us to be as inspired by it as she was when she created this layout:
You will find a new challenge each day on the Cookin' Up Creations forum through November 25. You have until the first few days in December to complete them. For each completed challenge, you earn one entry into the Dessert Tray prize drawing at the end of the month. And if you hurry, you can still join in this month's game of Bingo. So what are you waiting for? Come on over!
