Amy's April Jillibean Soup Reaveal

Absolutely LOVED working with all the yummy spring themed goodness this month! Not only are the papers perfect for Easter & Spring themed projects, but I found that they were very versatile for other projects as well. Here is a trifold card that I made.....the 'Happy Birthday' sentiment on the 'inside'........
and here is the front.

The papers were perfect for this 'Boy' page......loved how I could pull out & accentuate the yellows in my son's shirt.

I loved how the brown/green/blue really worked together here.....throw in the red accents & voila!

And last but not least, the pinks & girly colors worked perfectly with this photo of my DD & her best friend.

Angela's April DT Reveal - Jillibean Soup

For the month of April, the Design Team was given the wonderful opportunity to design with products by Jillibean Soup... I love, love, love their items and thought that the "Egg Drop Soup" Collection was one of the most adorable lines around... Thank you for taking the time to view my 4 layouts, project and card that I created with this month's sponsor, Jillibean Soup.

Angela's April DT Reveal - Jillibean Soup (Part 2)

This post includes pictures of the project and card that I made using these adorable products by Jillibean Soup! My project is a mini tag book which contains verses (one for each month) to guide you in your growth of twelve areas that will lead you to "A Closer Walk With God".

Back up and Running

Just wanted to let everyone know that the Cookin' up Creations board is back up and running now! Please come say hi....I've missed you all!

Song Lyrics Challenge

Drivin' down the street today
I saw a sign for lemonade
They were the cutest kidsI'd ever seen in this front yard
As they handed me my glass
Smiled and thinkin' to myself
Man what a picture perfect postcard this would make of America

It's a high school prom
It's a Springsteen song
It's a ride in a Chevrolet
It's a man on the moon
And fireflies in June
And kids sellin' lemonade
It's cities and farms
It's open arms
One nation under God
It's America

Now we don't always get it all right
There's no place else I rather build my life
Cause it's a kid with a chance
It's a rock and roll band
It's a farmer cuttin' hay
It's a big flag flyin' in the summer wind
Over a fallen hero's grave.

It's America!

I love this song by Rodney Atkins & thought it had some great possibilites for a layout. Whether you use the title or pull a line from the lyrics to use as journaling. I'm excited to see what everyone comes up with. Sorry I don't have an example of my own to share with y'all, but I'm still dealing with computer issues & am on my old DINOSAUR, SO.........for the time being I'm just gonna look forward to the wonderful layouts that you guys post!! Enjoy!

Calling All Card Makers.....

and non card makers alike!  Whether you're a seasoned card maker or have never made a handmade card in your life, then these card kits from Sweet Tooth Scrapbooking are for YOU!  These two ladies (Cindy and Shelly) have thought of EVERYTHING.......right down to the last tiny detail!!! Everything in the kits are pre cut so all you need to do is add adhesive!  Also included in each kit is a step by step instruction sheet with colorful examples so you can see what your cards will look like before you even add the glue! Now I ask you, can it get any easier than that....I think NOT!

I created the first two cards using the Sympathy Card Kit featuring Close To My Heart pattern papers.  I embossed the ivory cardstock, added the ribbon and made the flower out of an old text book but everything else you see was included in my kit!

The next two cards I created using the Baby Girl Congratulations Card Kit featuring Reminisce pattern papers.  I used my large scallop nestabilities to cut the scallop card and embossed the white cardstock but everything else you see was included in the kit.....right down to the adorable little dry embossed elephant.......cute eh?

And the last two cards I created using the Baby Boy Congratulations Card Kit also featuring Reminisce pattern papers.  I found a onesis template HERE - printed it out and taped it to the front of a cardstock base that was included in the kit.  The little round card - again I embossed the white cardstock and added a little Heidi Swapp heart to the front.....everything else was included in the card kit.

Thanks for looking and be sure to stop by Sweet Tooth Scrapbooking and check these kits out for yourself!

Sketch Challenge

Time for a sketch challenge! I look forward to seeing how you make this sketch work for you

The link to the chat room is on the home page at Cookin up Creations, and I'll post it here as well! Chat Room

And please stay tuned for more details to come on our upcoming Card Crop, and our Monthly Contest for April.

Mr Linky...

Thought we'd try this out, and see if we can get it to work...

Let's take on the card challenges that Jan has posted, and link them up here!

You all still hangin' with us???

I hope so.  I spoke with Tammy last night and she thinks the forum will be back up this evening.....so until then I have another sketch and card to show you.

I found this sketch in my email this morning from a very talented Go To Gal, Maren Benedict....no I don't know her personally I just happen to subscribe to her blog (Zany Not Crazy) and well you know how it goes.......when she updates I get an email!

Anyhoo, this is the sketch that I received in my inbox this morning.
It's just one of over 60 sketches found in the new - must have Go To Sketches magazine by Paper Crafts.....whether you're a card maker or not this magazine is chocked full of inspiration to get those creative juices flowing!.

And this is the little card I created using more Jillibean's Egg Drop Soup Paper Collection!

To make these little flowers all you have to do is follow the step by step instructions below.

Step 1: Punch a couple of different size circles out of pattern paper.  I used a 1 1/4 and 1 inch circle for the large flower and a 1 and 3/4 inch for the smaller one.

Step 2: Spritz circles with water and scrunch into a tiny ball and let dry completely....or if you're like me and don't like waiting you can use a heat gun to speed up the drying process.

Step 3: Once they're dry, carefully open them up and layer them together....decorate the centers with a brad or button and you're done!

Again, if you would like to participate in today's challenge all you have to do is create a card using the sketch above or use the little flower tutorial and link us up!

Happy crafting and have a safe Thursday!
