Hi to everyone.. so glad to be here

I am so excited to be here for this term as part of the new Master Chef Challenge Team. Any opportunity to work with other talented and inspiring people is amazing. I had been playing along here and was a guest earlier. I liked the feel of the people, the forum, the challenges, fabulous blue plate specials and the gallery is full of inspiring projects ... the overall site is great.

Bio:
I am just new to online scrapping since Apr 2009. There are so many sites. My name is Bev Code and I have been scrapping about 3+ years. I am a wife, mother and gramma that loves being retired and now have time to scrap to my heart's content. I live in Conestogo, Ontario and spend some time in Florida where I take my scrapping with me for the extended time.
It looks and feels like home here, an amazing, positive environment to be and a place where I'd like to spend my time sharing and getting to know the new team and all the members. It will be amazing to share with you the craft I am passionate about.

Hello! My name is Tamara Reed, I am a wife of 33 years, a sister to nine siblings, a mother of two grown children and a grandmother to two darling grandchildren with the third on the way. I Live in South Jordan, Utah. I love it here where we can enjoy the mountains right in our own backyard, along with four beautiful seasons. I love to scrapbook and scrapbook and scrapbook! I scrapbook anything from the daily moments in our lives, to our travels and experiences that come our way, to the fun and silliness of my beautiful grandchildren. They are so photogenic, so cute and lovable and so happy all the time. I take their picture every chance I get and that is ALOT! LOL. I love to scrapbook with subtle colors, I generally use brown and any other color along with it. I feel like I am pretty much a shabby chic type scrapper. I love to ink everything. I just love the finished distressed look it completes my pages with. I love the 3-D look on my pages and have several albums that tell the story of my life. I have been a a dental office manager for the past 32 1/2 years for Dr. Norman Rounds. He is a great boss to work for and is very good to me. We are fortunate to have a cabin where we can run to on weekends for a great escape. I have a closet filled with scrap supplies there which gives me the opportunity to scrap without a care in the world. Sometimes we have crops up there with our friends. Being in the beauty of nature and being able to enjoy the peace and serenity it brings is truly a dream come true. I am so happy to continue sharing with you my passion and love of scrapbooking! Thanks to Tammy and Shawn for allowing me this opportunity. I LOVE Cookinup Creations! They are the perfect fit for me!

Hello Hello Hello

Well hello there!  I am so honored to be back as a member f the Cookin' Up Creations Master Chef Challenge Team.  For those that may not already know me, My name is Sandy and I live in the great state of Alabama.  My husband, Lin, and I have been married for 17 year.  We have three children that are the main subject of my scrapping.  I have been a scrapbooker for so long, that I can not even remember when I started.  However I do know I have only been addicted for the last 10 years or so.  Scrapping, card making and mixed media art allows me to express myself in a creative way.  I hope that while on the Master Chef team here at CUC, I am able to inspire you in some way.  And I look forward to being inspired by you all as well.

As a child, I was always drawing, coloring and “making things”. I started scrapping six years ago, when I received my first digital camera and discovered the scrapbook products aisle at Walmart. Scrapbooking has proven to be a natural outlet for me to express my thoughts, feelings and creativity. In addition to page layouts, I also enjoy making cards and other paper projects. When I'm not scrapbooking, I love cooking, reading and spending time with my grandchildren. I look forward to continuing to share my love of scrapbooking and crafting with you on the Cookin' Up Creations Challenge Forum!

Design Team reveal for June 20

Hello --  have another week of awesome reveals for you! The girls are really putting out some adorable stuff these days! Hope you'll agree!

This month we have three sponsors.....Creative Charms, Little Scraps of Heaven Designs, and the Ribbon Jar.
Please make sure that you take the time to check out our generous sponsors this month! And stay tuned for some amazing creations from your Design Team here at Cookin' up Creations using the embellishments from Creative Charms, the Ribbons from the Ribbon Jar, and the cute little Paper Piecing/SVG files from Little Scraps of Heaven Designs.

And now for the reveals -

Barb
I was in a "collage frame of mind" this week! There is a calendar over my scrapping table that was a collaboration between PageMaps' Becky Fleck and Scrapbook Trends Today; it had a sketch and layout that I wanted to scraplift. The photos from a recent trip to a botanical center were perfect for experimenting. I paired them with patterned papers from Basic Grey and two lovely ribbons from The Ribbon Jar. I think the purple in the ribbons set off the floral photos beautifully; and the striped one picked up the green from the foliage. I also used a little floral embellishment from Creative Charms to pick up the teal undertones of some of the plants.

Cassy

I loved using Creative Charms this weeks to embellish these Center Step Cards. I decided to try making a Center Step Card - very easy - and thought that these charms and embellishments would go perfect with the brown Bazzil paper. Both were created using scraps from my scrap jar and the blue butterfly and vintage brads both came from Creative Charms.

Jenny

For my page today, I knew I wanted to use the purple satin ribbon I received from The Ribbon Jar...and when I remembered I had these cool GCD papers with that same shade of purple, I was estatic! But then I needed a picture! NOthing of my boys would do! LOL! So, my SIL had posted this pic of my niece while they were at the beach last week...and it was perfect! I was also able to use some BG felt and epoxy stickers that (amazingly) worked really well with the papers. I used some green ribbon from my stash too...

Jo

When I saw the vintage brads from Creative Charms, I knew just what to do with them. They are like little pieces of jewelry..they are so pretty!
I love to make homemade flowers by cutting circles from polyester scraps and melting them with my heat gun. These brads make perfect centers for my flowers!!

Image

and a close up of the centers..Don't you love the ones that look like turquoise?

Not only can you use these flowers for scrapbook projects, but I put together this cute headband for my daughter using a simple black headband and three fun blue zebra print flowers!!

Too bad I didn't have my model available for the photo...maybe next time!!

So have some fun with these gems from Creative Charms...they aren't just your standard brads!!
Tamara

I used the Creative Charms flowers to accent this lovely layout of my DS and his Bride. I also used Basic grey pattern papers and sticker die cuts.

I have to admit that every time I go into the gallery there is always, and I DO MEAN always tons of amazing layouts in there....so much so that once I get scrapping again, I plan on "scraplifting" several of them....

The layout that I chose this week just so happens to be one of those said layouts! It's by Bev Code, and I love every single thing about it....from the colors, to the theme, to the design, ALL OF IT!

DT Reveal 6-13-11

Please make sure that you take the time to check out our generous sponsors this month! During June, we are using the embellishments from Creative Charms, the ribbons from the Ribbon Jar, and the cute little paper piecing/SVG files from Little Scraps of Heaven Designs.
And now for the reveals...

Barb
I used some older paper from my stash this week to cover the frame of a small chalk board that I found in my scrap closet. I don't have the appropriate software for my Cricut, so I hand cut and paper pieced
this adorable Baking Bear from Little Scraps of Heaven Creations. Then I borrowed my husband's hand drill to add holes for a hanging cord, used a mulberry paper flower from Prima to hide a nasty little gouge in my board, and it's ready to hang in my kitchen for grocery lists, menus, or notes.

Cassy
Purple is one of the most difficult colors for me to use but when I saw these ribbons from the Ribbon Jar, I couldn't resist layering them and using them to anchor my photos on this layout of my adorable niece opening her eggs Easter day - yes I still have Easter pictures to scrap! I also used Elsie embossed papers, sanded them, added some scraps for some added color, and embellished with tons of leftover Thickers, AC egg shapes, gems, brads, and buttons. Thanks for looking!

Jenny
I also used a couple of the paper piecing patterns from Little Scraps of Heaven...and let me tell you...
that was FUN! They cut perfectly on my Cricut using SCAL2 making it a very quick thing to put together!
For my first card, I used Robot 2 from the Robot Collection to make a birthday card for Harrison's friend. The only thing NOT in the cut file was the party hat...I cut that myself. I inked all the edges using Old Paper Distress ink. This is also a March 2011 Card Map.

For my second card, I used this CUTE little bear from the "Cookin Up Some Fun" set. After creating this girl...I think I'm addicted! Putting her together was like watching something come to life! The inside of this card says, "What's cooking, Sweets?" and I'm gonna send it to a friend I haven't talked to in awhile. To bring it all together, I used 3 different ribbons from "The Ribbon Jar".

Jo
This week I had fun working with a paper piecing pattern from Little Scraps of Heaven. I chose the Nail Polish Pattern from their perfume and makeup collection because it went so perfectly with this photo of the girls' manicures! I actually printed the bottles on white cardstock and painted with nail polish to give them a rich and glossy finish. I also used some fun flower brads from our other sponsor Creative Charms to accent my page. These flowers are unique because they combine a flower brad wih cording to make the flower petals...too cute!! My papers are from MME's Just Dreamy 2 collection.

Tamara
I used all these pretty ribbons from the Ribbon Jar to complement my page. I also used SEI patterned paper and Making Memories metal letters and flower, Tim Holz stick pin, Heidi Swapp photo corner, and a stampin' up! journaling block. Button and school letters are anonymous.

Design Team reveal for June 6

This month we have three sponsors -- Creative CharmsLittle Scraps of Heaven Designs and The Ribbon Jar.  Please make sure to check out our generous sponsors this month!

We hope you enjoy these projects that our Design Team created this month using products from our sponsors.

Barb
I created two cards this week. My first one was so much fun to make! I used one of the cute Robot Collection images from Little Scraps of Heaven and paired it with Fancy Pants papers for a bright birthday card:

For the second, I used these gorgeous vintage brads from Creative Charms to embellish a sympathy card. They went perfectly with these Garden Party papers by DCWV.

Cassy
One of the things that I love to do with embellishments is to use them to create a visual triangle and guide the viewers eye through the layout.  I used the flower charms from Creative Charms to do just that.  The flower's colors were perfect with the paper and added just a hint of shimmer to the eclectic group of paper and photos that I used. TFL!

Jenny
Goodness gracious!  Do you ever create a page and then decide you can't add ANYTHING else to it for fear you will completely ruin it???  The page I did for today's reveal is one of those pages!!!  As I was thinking about what I'd create today I KNEW I HAD to use the gorgeous butterfly embellishments that I received from Creative Charms...so I had to search for a picture.  I finally settled on this one of P with his Preschool teachers.  And then I went crazy!  LOL!  I added handmade flowers (spritzed with Glimmer Mist and Stickled!), some of the beautiful Vintage Brads also from Creative Charms, ribbon, and crepe paper...And then I hit that point.  I can't add anything else!!!  At least not right now!  I do want it to have a title, but I'm gonna have to find one that's PERFECT, KWIM?  So...here it is...

And a close up of the yumminess!

Jo
I love the ribbons from The Ribbon Jar!!  When I saw the assortment of purples I was given, I knew I had to combine it with these fun Papers from Bo Bunny.  The patterns on the ribbons matched perfectly.  The different textures of ribbons allowed me to have some fun with them and make a butterfly trail.  There is even a tiny one tied around my "b"!

I also used some Prima Flowers and Jilli Bean corrugated alphas and lots of purple chalk!

Tamara
Miss Kalli used all my flowers that came in this cute little box.  Turned out to be the perfect thing for me to alter.

It slides in like a drawer.  This is a photo of my grandmother I never met.  I love it because of the sweet look and hat.

I used these brads and buttons from Creative charms to accent my new shadow box!

Come on over to the Cookin' Up Creations forum for our Birthday  Bash Celebration 2.0! We're turning two and we are celebrating with a new challenge every day; additional special challenges; games and PRIZES! Going on all month long -- don't miss the fun!

LOTW - WANDA

Today I chose a digital layout from Wanda as our layout of the week.  Not only is the kit she used amazing with its bright colors and fun patterns, but the template she used just shouts fun!!!

I know I will scrap lift this one as I love all the elements on her page!!!  I really like how she placed embellishments onto each of the blocks!  Very Cute!!

Check out this layout and others by Wanda in our gallery here!
