Can you believe it -- October is here! For me, the first of October officially marks the beginning of autumn. This past week also marked the end of the September Blue Plate Specials honoring Famous Women, and the beginning of the October challenges.
Here's a quick recap of the past week's challenges:
Nicole's Technique Tuesday challenge honored Mother Teresa. Nic asked us to use hatpins on your layout, as well as a photo of someone helping others and a heart. Here is her example:
Sandy's What's New Wednesday challenge, in honor of Mary Katherine Goddard, was to use an envelope on your layout. Resourceful Sandy made her own:
Tamara honored her mother, a talented seamstress, by sewing on a layout and asking us to do the same:
Amy's Friday Focus featured Cruella DeVille with a challenge to use black and white as the predominant paper colors on our layout. Here's her example:
With Saturday, October 1, our challenge theme turned to "Rockin' the Kitchen" featuring music related inspiration. Karen started us out on Sketchy Saturday with a sketch and the prompt to use your favorite song title. Here is her touching tribute to her late son, using Eric Clapton's lyrics:
And for Sunday's Inspiration challenge, Amy invoked the fun musical "Hairspray" by giving us two different images from which to draw inspiration. Here's her fun layout:
Be sure to check out the Blue Plate Specials on the forum. Have a great week!
