Make-Up Monday Dec. 5

Well, this past week we ended out the month of November & all our food related challenges & we began December where we're revisiting some of our Favorite challenges from the past months. So, here's your recap:

Tues. 11/29--For today's challenge, we are celebrating the chicken by including a bird on our layout (on the patterned paper, embellishment or photo). To celebrate that lovely browned skin, we will distress the edges of at least one of our papers.

Wed. 11/30--My what's new this Wednesday is WATERCOLOR!!! I spied on someone's blog awhile back (can't remember who right now) a layout where the scrapbooker used watercolor paint to add color to her page and I really liked the look. So I dusted off my cheap watercolor set that I've had forever and gave it a go and here's what I came up with.

Thurs. 12/1--This month we are making the challenges super easy on you by choosing some of our favorites from this past year. One of my favorite challenges that was posted on Thursday (way back when it was called transformation Thursday) was the altered toilet paper roll gift card holder. It was posted on January 27th. You can see the original post HERE and here is what Cassy had to say about it:

For this weeks TTh, I was reminded of how much everyone loved the gift card holders that I made for birthday gifts etc. a few years ago and since it was so simple to do, I thought that I would share this idea with you today. A tp roll is perfect for holding a gift card. It is exactly the right size and all you have to do is flatten the toilet paper roll, cover it with pp, I like to trim the edges with some deco-edge scissors, and then embellish to your hearts content. I like to crease the edges with a bone folder to finish everything off. You can add a tag to attach the card to or just slip it in the gap.

So now here is my take on this challenge:
Fri. 12/2--Todays Challenge was originally created by Barb! Just like Barb... I love all the fun birds that are in so many of the scrapbook products. So your challenge is to use a bird on your project!
Here is my example...

Sat. 12/3--I have to be honest and admit that Sketchy Saturday is my all time favorite challenges that we post here at CUC. There are not a whole lot of them that I miss. And when I do, it's because I have a lot going on at the time and just can't seem to find the time to do them. So when I found out what the theme for this month was I was so excited because it meant I would get to go back and doTHIS FABULOUS SKETCH CHALLENGE that was posted by Jo way back on my wedding anniversary, May 28th:

I love Liz Chidester's sketches. But sadly never got around to completing this one when it was first posted. So I finally had my chance to get it done. Here is my take on the sketch:

Sun. 12/4--One of my favorite inspirational Sundays came from Tamara. She found this sketch/layout and loved all the white space it had...that it focused on the "Main Dish"

and she made the following (very cute) layout...

So my challenge to you is to scraplift this layout and see what you can come up with....if you want to go the thread and see what everyone else came up with...it is here:

I will be posting my example later today.....

Enjoy your main dish and remember...1 layout or 2 cards will put an entry into the monthly drawing for that $20 gift card!!!
