Hi~ it's Monday makeup and time to scrap the day away to catch up on a few things you may have missed. Here is a little of what was cooking in the kitchen this week.
On Tuesday we had a great layout about split journaling by Cassy. What a fun way to tell the story behind your pictures. Break up your journaling and place it in different areas on your layout as you tell the story.
On Wednesday Barb had us soaring with Hot air balloons as she challenges us to make a project using them.
Thursday was something new for us "throw back" Thursday. Tammy picked a project that we previously had and challenged us to do it again.
On Friday we got to focus on Tissue Paper with Penny sharing this cute card.
Pennynoel shared Saturdays sketch and brought us back to "Love" . She encouraged us to cut a photo in a heart shape! Isn't this beautiful?
Sundays inspiration Jo gave us something to think about our names. Does your name have a story behind it waiting to tell?

Layout of the Week 2/23/11 mommysews/Kimberly
Picking the Layout of the Week has to be one of the hardest things to do here and I really kinda dreaded it being my turn to pick. Seriously, I did! There are sooooo many deserving layouts in the gallery, and it's really, really difficult to pick just one!
After going back and forth to the gallery several times this morning, I finally chose this layout by Kimberly! I soooo loved everything about it. I love that it's a 2 page layout, I love that she took on the "split journaling" BPS challenge, and I love, love, love all of the flowers & her color choice on this one....it just screams Springtime to ME!! Congratulations Kimberly!!

Design Team Reveal -- February 21, 2011
We celebrated our Presidents' Day reveal with a focus on sports, thanks to the generosity of our sponsor - Scrappin' Sports & More! Because of Dawn's generosity in providing products for our Design Team, we also are featuring reveals this month from Design Team Alumni Nordica Burns, Robin Wade, and Sandy Liles.
We also have the opportunity to work with two Etsy stores this month as well: Shinta Shop, who has provided some fantastic tags for us; and The Crafty Pearl, with adorable felt embellishments. We hope you check out all of our generous sponsors this month!
Now for the reveal from the Cookin' up Creations Design Team:
Barb chose the bright and bold fishing patterned papers to show off photos of her daughter's family on their vacation to South Dakota. She kept her embellishments to a minimum and popped up two of her photos for added emphasis. She added her own die cut alpha, October Afternoon alpha stickers, rick rack and buttons.
The Scrappin' Sports & More wrestling papers were perfect for a photo of her son. She added some
sports rub-ons, leather photo corners, assorted trims, and chipboard letters, and journaled around the edge of the layout.
Jenny noted that she was amazed at how quickly her project came together this week! She crafted a page using Scrappin; Sports & More's soccer paper, then inserted it into an 8 x 10 inch acrylic frame. She added stickers to the outside of the frame to give it some dimension.
Jo chose the February calendar page from Scrappin' Sports & More with its heart motif for a monochromatic page using only pinks. She used inks and Stickles to accent her paper edges and the hearts on the paper; and some buttons and flowers from her stash to accent the colors of her daughter's bracelet. The adorable felt flower was from The CraftyPearl.
Nordica combined the Sports Head On Hunting paper from Scrappin' Sports & More with some fun photos of her younger son wearing his favorite camo print. She used her Cricut to cut a puzzle piece from the paper and added leaves cut with her Cuttlebug for an outdoorsy feel. She added brads, chalk ink and American Crafts Thickers.
Robin chose the February calendar page from Scrappin' Sports & More to create a perfect thank you card. She added black & white cardstock, bling, a rose cut with her Cricut and a Martha Stewart punch to create this card:
Sandy created a layout using the "The Sport is...Football" line (words/footballs), "Sports Head On...Track" line (green dots) and the Football Cardstock stickers from Scrappin' Sports & More. She also used DCWV cardstock, Basic Grey Fruitcake alphabet stickers, Crafts etc! Twine and Staz-on Ink.
Tamara chose felt embellishments from The Crafty Pearl along with Anna Griffin patterned paper, stickers and string for this lovely card:
Her second card included basketball themed paper from Scrappin' Sports & More on a card for a boy who loves basketball!

It's Make-Up Monday time!!! The 2-21-11 edition!
Good Morning everyone! Hope you all had a great weekend and that the week is starting off perfectly for you! Here's a recap of all the fun stuff that went on last week!
On Tuesday, Tamara challenged us to create a mosaic on our pages using a PHOTO!! I have to admit...it looks awesome! I started working on a page for this one last night! Here's her fab example:
On Wednesday, Wanda issued a 2-part challenge! The first part was to scrap about a relationship between people other than yourself. The second part was to change out the center of at least one flower, and do a flower center that you haven't done before. In her example, she replaced the center of her flower with some bits from an old dress pattern and a glass marble embellishment. Here's her example:
And a close up of that flower!
Thursday, Cassy challenged us to alter something with a Spring theme since the weather had been so nice. She created this awesome banner:
For Friday's Focus, I challenged you to use those paper strips you have left over and are always saving.
Our Sketch on Saturday was a great 2-pager that Sandy found in Creating Keepsakes magazine. Can't wait to try this one!
Sunday's Inspiration was to "Jump start your Creativity". Tamara shared an idea she found in a book of the same name where you write creativity "prompts" on strips of paper and then put the papers in a little cup or jar on your desk. When you get in a slump, you pull out a slip of paper and do what it tells you to do! It could tell you to stitch, paint, add buttons...anything! A really fun way to get your thought processes going. Look at this pretty little teacup that Tamara uses to store her little strips!
And that's a wrap! Lots of great ideas this week! Hope you get the time to try some of them!!!
Have a great week!

Design Team Reveal 2/14/11
This month, we're focusing on Sports! Why sports you ask? Because Cookin' up Creations has the opportunity to work with a very generous sponsor this month - that sponsor being Scrappin' Sports & More. We also have the opportunity to work with two Etsy stores this month as well - Shinta Shop and The Crafty Pearl. Check out their shops to see their amazing products. Now on with the reveal.
For this reveal Barb chose some baseball themed papers for a layout about the summer that her husband coached her youngest daughter's softball team and nearly won the championship for their age group. Check out her cute layout!
Cassy created two coaches cards using Scrappin' Sports & More papers and cardstock stickers.
Jenny used papers from the "Watersports" collection for her page today and look how cute it turned out! All she added was Cardstock!
Jo was inspired by the Stopwatch paper from Scrappin' Sports & More and combined it with the Wrestling paper to create this cute layout of her daughter. She added some trim, a Jenni Bowlin bingo card, Thickers, and some flowers. One of my flowers is a felt flower from our other sponsor The Crafty Pearl.
Nordica used their "Name of the Game" Soccer Balls and "The Sport Is..." The Sport is Soccer paper, Soccer Balls Cardstock Stickers, some misc. cardstock to match the color of her son's uniform, and some Colorbox Chalk Ink to highlight the torn paper edge.
Robin used the "Calendars Made Easy" line by Scrappin' Sports & More again this week for her project to create another page for the calendar album her daughter.
Sandy used the Sport is Homecoming/Prom (homecoming word paper), Sports Head on Wrestling (dotted paper) and the Name of the Game Megaphone paper and stickers. She didn't add a whole lot of extras, just DCWV Cardstock, Tim Holtz Distress ink, Unknown ribbon and AC Thickers for the title. Check out her adorable layout!
And finally Tamara chose to do a layout of my nephew playing basketball. I love the use of white space on this layout!
Be sure to check out all of the great products that our sponsor's have to offer this week!

Digital Reveal - Lovefest '11 by Penny Noel!
Hi, it's Wanda and I am proud to be the first person to reveal pages using Penny's cute kit called Lovefest '11. It is available HERE at Scrapable.co.
Here's the preview of the kit:
And here are my pages, all of which were inspired by pages or templates at Scrap Orchard, another great digi place to hang out.
This cool page was inspired by THIS page in the Scrap Orchard gallery. I just knew it would translate well with the cute elements and colors of Penny's kit, and most especially with that CUTE CUTE alpha! Don't you love it?
And here is a page using a freebie template by Captivated Visions that was given away during the Orchard's Scrapper Bowl party on Sunday. I love the cutouts, don't you? And check out that LOVE banner!!! OMG, it is too cute.
And my last page is a lift of THIS page by Hillary in the Orchard gallery. I loved the composition and the silly pictures and it reminded my of this silly picture of Mary Beth and my brother, Chuck. I recolored the alpha a little bit, and added my own little round cutouts to the page.
Penny's kit is only $4.95! What a bargain! Why don't you go over there and check out this kit and her others? (I am partial to her Tangerine kit, as well.)
