This month’s digital kit, Revive, by Designs by Krista, was delightful to work with. It’s a collection of nine richly textured papers and a darling element set. I have used it to make four different pages that I am thrilled to add to my scrapbook collection. This first page features my grand-nephew at a reptile show. While the photo doesn’t contain the reptiles, you can see the fascination in his eyes, which is what led me to the pic’s caption. I also used just a tiny bit of the grid paper to make a little spot for a date.

One of my favorite aspects of digital scrapbooking (besides clean-up!) is the ability to use the pieces repeatedly and to be able to alter them to fit the page. In this page, which highlights my niece, I have re-colored the flower to yellow to give the page a light-hearted feeling and to contrast the blue paper. And I also used my favorite journaling tool – use a quote to express your feelings.

When my kids were little computers were brand new, especially for home use, so we didn’t have any digital photos. Instead I have shoe boxes full of old photos that I have started scanning and scrapping for books that I’m making for my kids. In this page, the photos are from 1985, my husband and kids are visiting Grandpa’s backyard. Reliving the memories is delightful!

And lastly, I’m making my own cookbook of favorite recipes and I used Revive for one of my favorite muffin recipes. The wooden spoon is mine – thanks so much to Designs by Krista for the fun! Enjoy!

DT 02/23 Challenge - Color Combo Challenge

During my extensive search for a color palette that I really liked, I stumbled across a blog by the name of "100 Layer Cake"... Yes, it is a site that's aimed at weddings but the great thing about it is that they include some pretty modern color swatches and match wedding decor, as well as other items to it... so I thought to myself, "what fun it would be to match up Scrappin' supplies, as well." Hope you enjoy!

My layout for the Color Combo Challenge... Please forgive me if the colors from my layout may not seem to exactly match but it was night when I had to take the photo and my inside lighting isn't that great.

***A HUGE THANK YOU TO PAGE MAPS, my layout was created using one of the lovely January 2009 sketches***

Robin's February DT Reveal

I am excited to post my reveals using Nikki Sivils' cute "U R My Favorite" line!! This fun, whimsical line can be used for so many different themes! Because the paper has so many fun little elements & stands so well on it's own, I felt I really didn't need a whole lot of other embellies on my pages to showcase my photos & memories.

I hope you enjoy my creations!

Angela's February DT Reveal

FEBRUARY SPONSOR: U R MY FAVORITE collection and other products by NIKKI SIVILS...

FUN! FUN! FUN! All that with a ton of "adorable" thrown into the mix!!! That's exactly how I felt about this month's Sponsor, Nikki Sivils and her awesome products... I have to admit that at first I was worried because of the colors and that I thought I'd have to do "girly" pages but as I worked with these, I realized how easy they were to adapt to my two favorite people that I scrap.... Both of which are males (my son and my hubby)! I was able to create ALL of this and still have enough scraps for a couple of more cards.

For my altered "Keepsakes Tin", I covered the cardboard slip from the Cool Cord Brads by Nikki Sivils with U R My Favorite patterned paper and used it as the prop for the chipboard hearts to stand straight up**

My layouts and a card also using the U R My Favorite Collection and other products by Nikki Sivils...

Tuesday's Digital Reveal - Designs by Krista

Hi! Are you ready for another great sponsor reveal here at Cookin' Up Creations? Yesterday was a paper reveal using products by Nikki Sivils, our wonderful February sponsor.

Today is a digital reveal using the kit "Revive" by Krista (Designs by Krista). This colors in this kit are wonderfully classic and versatile.

This page shows off the beautiful patterned papers in the kit and the great frame cluster:

This page shows off the color scheme and the cute label tape word strips (the stamp frame was in my stash - Lindsey Jane Designs):

This page has a very different look - black and white with small touches of color. The kit has some nice trims in it. I used a grungy frame from House of 3 on the picture of Mary Beth:

My favorite paper in the kit is the white graph paper with the "die cut" edges. I didn't use the edges, but I just love the clean white graph paper as a background! I used an inked overlay by Royanna Fritschman and word art that I recolored by Vicki F on this page:

So, if you love digi, or are just collecting digi kits and waiting to learn how to digi scrap, this kit is a great one to add to your collection, and a serious bargain at only $3! Just follow the various links in my post and happy scrapping!

Here's a few projects I created with the U R My Favorite line.

For this layout I used THIS sketch I found over at Sketchy Thursdays.

I also created this simple card using the same papers.......

and these little treat bags (found here) for dh's lunch box.

Thanks for looking and be sure to check back all month long for more inspiration from the Design Team!
