Make up Monday 10/29/12

Charlie: Excuse me, Lieutenant. Is there something wrong?
Maverick: Yes ma’am, the data on the MiG is inaccurate.
Charlie: How’s that, Lieutenant?
Maverick: Well, I just happened to see a MiG 28 do a…
Goose: We!
Maverick: Uh, sorry Goose. WE happened to see a MiG 28 do a 4g negative dive.
Charlie: Where did you see this?
Maverick: Uh, that’s classified.
Charlie: It’s what?
Maverick: It’s classified. I could tell you, but then I’d have to kill you.

Ahhhh . . . one of my favorite 80's quotes of all time.  I use this when my students want me to give them the correct answer on a quiz or test.  They don't find it as funny as I do!

Happy rainy Monday to many!  Best wishes to all affected or soon to be affected by the upcoming storm!!!  We have some amazing 80's challenges here to share with you today.  So sit back and scrap!

Today's Make up Monday begins with Lisa's challenge to try an Acid Wash Jeans technique with some bleach on your background.  Who didn't own a pair of these?  Here is her sample:

In What's New Wednesday, Sandy challenged us to mix the old and new (To complete this challenge you must mix at least 2 manufacturers patterned paper (and no, your cardstock does NOT count) as well as use embellishments from at least 2 different manufacturers. You must also mix old patterned paper (preferably at least a year old, but if you don't have any that old then the oldest you can find that is at least 6 months old) with the newer ones) like the song We Are the World did.  Now if you haven't checked out the newer version of this song which benefited the Haiti Relief program, then you are missing out.  Check it out on Itunes.  I  LOVE it!!!
For Toss-up Thursday, Annette inspired us with Rainbow Brite.  You must use at least three colors from the rainbow as she did here.
For Focus Friday, Tamara focused on the Big Hair with Big Punches (or large scalloped paper.)  Check out her example:
Sketchy Saturday looked like this sketch from Nuts About Sketches:
And Barb challenged us to be inspired by the grunge bands and use some distressing techniques like she did in this layout:

And finally we wrapped up the list this week with Sunday Inspiration from Michelle.  She encouraged us to be inspired by an 80's movie as she was from (yes one of my fav's) - Top Gun
and Day's of Thunder:
I hope you enjoy the last week of our 80's inspiration!
