This week I have chosen Petra's layout - Celebrate 25 Years

I love how she featured her hubby, herself & their beautiful children as part of this layout. I really like Petra used soft colors on this layout. Also, How Petra used some gold & pearl touches.

Make Up Monday 07/01/2013

Can you believe it ..... this is July 1 already! That means the year is half over; summer is just getting rolling; and the Fourth Birthday Bash Celebration at Cookin' Up Creations is coming to an end. 

We had a brand new challenge EVERY day in June to celebrate the forum's fourth birthday. Although the month is over, you still have a couple more days to finish up the challenges and get your name into the  Dessert Tray prize drawing.

Here are just a few of the 30 challenges offered through the month:

Tammy started a fun extra challenge -- design (and model) your own party hat! Forum member Petra made one fantastic creation:

On day 5, Cassy gave us a great tutorial for a "banner on a banner" card design. Here are her fun examples:

What's a party without balloons? On day 11, Barb asked us to create something using balloons. Here's her layout, using balloons she cut on her Cricut:

On day 16, Jan offered something completely different: use leftover paper and other scrapbooking supplies to wrap and decorate a package! Here is her lovely example:

In the tradition of cutting the birthday cake, Annie's "Cut Me a Piece" challenge on day 24 asked us to use die cuts on our projects. Here's her beautiful layout:

On day 29, Tamara reminded us that a good birthday gift recipient always says thank you, and asked us to make thank you cards. Here is her fun example:

I have been scrapbooking for over 14 years now, since my oldest was born. Like many of you, scrapbooking is a big part of my life. I have been creating sketches for several years. I love that sketches give a good starting point to creating a scrapbook page even if the finished layout doesn't resemble the sketch exactly. So many fun Birthday layouts and lots of cards in the gallery. This month is such a fun one for challenges. I am loving the ideas. This layout of Bevs' jumps right off the page with such fun colors and spurts. I love the bright colors and the fun choice of pattern papers and the butterfly that anchors the page. Great design, great colors and such a fun layout. Thanks for sharing!!

Creation of the Week - June 19th, 2013 - Beth Camp

With Cookin' up Creations Celebrating it's 4th Birthday this month, the gallery is truly overflowing with so so many things to choose from....which is why I always dread when it's my turn to pick the layout of the week, as I want to pick them all. It's especially hard when you have to do it two weeks in a row! Seriously! This week I chose a creation rather than a layout or a card.... I chose the Birthday Hat created by Beth as it's so "fun" looking....she's always going above and beyond with the challenges that we put out there for her and always comes back with some creative things, especially with this challenge....this is Beth's third year here at Cookin' up Creations, and her third birthday hat! I have to admit...I think she out did herself this time....what do you think?

LOTW - Tracy F.

This has been a wonder week for us here at Cookin' Up Creations. We're celebrating our 4th birthday and enjoying all sorts of inspiration in the gallery. That is way I chose Tracy F.'s layout as the LOTW. 

I really love how she layered the pattern papers on the bottom of her page and the brick stencil background. Then all those little texture elements make this such a fantastic layout. Thank you Tracy for sharing your work with us.

Birthday Bash Celebration #4 !!!

Can you believe it- we're 4 years old today. Amazing how fast time goes. So, of  course we're going to have a party! We would love it for all of you come.  We're planning on parting all month long.

We have plenty of challenges, games and of course goodies. We've got things started with our first challenge. It's called what else Celebration.

We also have some fun games going as well - you can find those in the forum. I know that in next few days our gallery will be filled with so much inspiration for all.

Make Up Monday -- 5/27/2013

Hello! We apologize for the delay in posting Make Up Monday. Our gallery was down yesterday, which meant that none of our photo links would show up. But the gallery's back, and here we are!

This month on the Cookin' Up Creations forum, we've been celebrating the return of warm weather and the anticipation of even more warmer weather, with our Spring Into Summer theme. Here's a look at the challenges for the past week:

On Technique Tuesday, Tamara introduced us to a new way to stamp on our projects -- with the edge of an empty toilet paper roll and paint! Here's her cute example:

On What's New Wednesday, Cassy celebrated spring with a challenge to use rainbow and woodgrain themed products together. Here is her beautiful example:

For Toss Up Thursday, Michelle celebrated longer daylight hours by asking us to use light and dark papers together, with -- you've got it! -- more light than dark. Here is her lovely example:

Friday's Focus came to us from Jo, who asked us to use chipboard elements on our projects. Here is her beautiful example:

Jan brought us a sketch from Liz Chidester (and a photo of her brand new twin grand-nieces -- how special is that!?!?!?) for Sketchy Saturday. Here is her adorable layout featuring those precious baby girls:

Those are the last of the May Blue Plate Special challenges. The deadline for completing all May challenges is June 3, and EACH completed challenge earns you an entry into the Dessert Tray prize drawing.

Stay tuned for a special month-long celebration. Cookin' Up Creations is celebrating our FOURTH birthday with a BIRTHDAY BASH throughout June!
